Monsters erupted across the globe, turning modern cities into deadly hunting grounds. For Kim Tae-hoon, a man whose life was already steeped in violence and survival, this wasn't the end—it was a new beginning. Having faced death countless times, he knew one thing above all: how *not* to die. Now, armed with brutal experience and an uncanny ability to adapt, he navigates the ruins of civilization, starting with the desolate aisles of a supermarket. This new world isn't just about survival; it's about evolution, where strength is measured in destructive power. \n\nAs Tae-hoon battles grotesque creatures and scavenges for resources, he hones his skills, transforming into a force capable of facing increasingly monstrous threats. From shattering walls with his bare hands to outsmarting hordes of goblins, he becomes the ultimate predator in a world where humanity is prey. Hunting isn't just about killing; it's about strategy, patience, and knowing when to reel in a catch weighing hundreds of kilograms. As whispers of ancient powers and legendary beasts like dragons emerge, Tae-hoon must decide if he will merely survive, or rise to become the 'First Hunter'—the one who dares to reclaim a world lost to monsters, one brutal hunt at a time.\n\n**Original Novel:**   \n[Munpia](https://www.munpia.com/novel/detail/72663), [Naver Series](https://series.naver.com/novel/detail.series?productNo=2719640), [KakaoPage](https://page.kakao.com/content/52562755), [Ridibooks](https://ridibooks.com/books/425016098), [BookCube](https://www.bookcube.com/novel/detail.asp?serial_num=se2873), [Mootoon](https://www.mootoon.co.kr/nov/nov_list.mg?tcode=421f), [Joara](https://www.joara.com/book/1253585) \n\n**Official Translations:**   \nEnglish","published":{"start_date":"2016-01-01","end_date":"2017-12-31","start_date_is_estimated":true,"end_date_is_estimated":false},"status":"completed","is_licensed":true,"content_rating":"safe","type":"novel","original_language":"ko","rating":78,"popularity":{"global":{"current":63294,"history":{"1d":63213,"1w":63291,"1mo":65473,"3mo":59073,"6mo":29728,"1y":null}},"type":{"current":3093,"history":{"1d":3082,"1w":3097,"1mo":3318,"3mo":2775,"6mo":1378,"1y":null}}},"last_updated_at":"2026-10-15T05:01:52.334Z","source":{"anilist":{"id":null,"rating":null,"rating_normalized":null},"anime_planet":{"id":"the-first-hunter-novel","rating":3.9,"rating_normalized":78},"anime_news_network":{"id":null,"rating":null,"rating_normalized":null},"kitsu":{"id":59699,"rating":null,"rating_normalized":null},"manga_updates":{"id":"omoavpa","rating":null,"rating_normalized":null},"my_anime_list":{"id":null,"rating":null,"rating_normalized":null},"shikimori":{"id":null,"rating":null,"rating_normalized":null}},"publishers":[{"id":4375,"name":"Genesis Studio","canonical_url":"https://mangabaka.org/publisher/4375/Genesis-Studio","language":"en","note":null},{"id":5333,"name":"Munpia","canonical_url":"https://mangabaka.org/publisher/5333/Munpia","language":"ko","note":null},{"id":4846,"name":"Webnovel","canonical_url":"https://mangabaka.org/publisher/4846/Webnovel","language":"en","note":"Expired"}],"rating_count":23,"final_volume":7,"total_chapters":162,"titles":[{"language":"ko","traits":["native"],"title":"체이스 더 드래곤","is_primary":true},{"language":"ja-Latn","traits":["native"],"title":"Choechoui Hunter","is_primary":true},{"language":"en","traits":[],"title":"The First Hunter","is_primary":true}],"cover":{"raw":"https://media.kitsu.app/manga/poster_images/59699/original.png","x150":"https://cdn.mangabaka.dev/imgproxy/plain/x150@1/aHR0cHM6Ly9tZWRpYS5raXRzdS5hcHAvbWFuZ2EvcG9zdGVyX2ltYWdlcy81OTY5OS9vcmlnaW5hbC5wbmc","x250":"https://cdn.mangabaka.dev/imgproxy/plain/x250@1/aHR0cHM6Ly9tZWRpYS5raXRzdS5hcHAvbWFuZ2EvcG9zdGVyX2ltYWdlcy81OTY5OS9vcmlnaW5hbC5wbmc","x350":"https://cdn.mangabaka.dev/imgproxy/plain/x350@1/aHR0cHM6Ly9tZWRpYS5raXRzdS5hcHAvbWFuZ2EvcG9zdGVyX2ltYWdlcy81OTY5OS9vcmlnaW5hbC5wbmc","blurhash":"|cEn%sS44?oKkUs.WCWDoLs+oeWYazj?jtj?a|j[0js.-lS2agR+j[oeayNIazxYWpWCW:azjaa}tOWWV]oKoeoKjajaayovazWEoLj?oKj@fjj[n*bGbGjaa|jajtbHayahbGj@f7j@WVazazazoJazWWoKj@a|azayoK","width":341,"height":480},"anime":{"exists":false,"start":null,"end":null}}}
